For most things in life, I like to think I’ll try anything once, but when I find something I love I’m loyal.

As in, fiercely loyal.

You have the obvious things like friends, family and foods (pizza, hello!) and the same goes for my go-to skin care products.

There are some crucial criteria I look for whenever I try a new product, such as quality, ingredients, price, bust most importantly, results.

About 3 years ago I was introduced to a skincare line that was making waves in the media, Zenmed.

I was instantly attracted because they were a Canadian company, but more so when I learned that all of their skin care lines are cruelty-free, paraben-free, vegan friendly. Not to mention they ship using 100% recycled materials and no wasteful packaging.

Zenmed has grown over the years and now boasts acne, anti aging, rosacea treatment products and even makeup.

But for today, we’re going to dive into the one I use regularly: Zenmed Acne Treatment Line.

What Is Zenmed?

Zenmed Acne Treatment Line is a natural based product designed for even the most sensitive skin.

Every product is free from parabens and sulfates, which have been found to cause cancer and other illnesses.

There are several different kits available depending on your acne fighting needs and skin type. For the full 411, we’re going to dish on all the products available for fighting acne.

Zenmed Facial Cleansing Gel

What truly makes a great cleanser for me is how it feels being used and how it leaves my skin feeling afterwards. The Zenmed facial cleansing gel is a light cleanser that clears away makeup, dirt and bacteria without making your skin feel parched or assaulted.

Facial Cleansing Gel Ingredients

I’m a sucker for anything with tea tree oil because I love the scent and I know how fantastic it is for my skin. Combined with aloe vera you will get all the acne fighting benefits of tea tree oil with the added bonus of moisture from the aloe.

It will seriously leave you feeling so fresh and so clean.

How to Use Zenmed Facial Cleansing Gel

Using this cleanser is simple. Splash your face with water to dampen the skin, then use a dime sized amount and massage in using circular motions. Rinse off with warm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel.

It is gentle enough to use twice daily without drying out your skin.

Zenmed Derma Cleanse Acne Gel

Why not battle blemishes in your sleep? This acne gel is designed for evening use to help reduce inflammation and heal current breakouts faster.

This is one of my least favourite products in the line and one I almost never use because it’s far too harsh for my sensitive skin.

Derma Cleanse Acne Gel Ingredients

Zenmed recommends this product for acne suffers with any skin type, but if you suffer from dry, sensitive skin like me then I would be careful.

This acne gel contains a blend of salicylic acid and glycolic acid to heal pimples faster and reduce the risk of future breakouts.

This gel has a slightly higher acid content than other products )pH 3.5), so you want to make sure to apply this only to skin affected by acne or it can be drying.

The acid content in Zenmed Derma Cleanse Acne Gel works to reduce inflammation that can lead to breakouts, but more importantly it helps reduce your risk of scarring.

How to Use Zenmed Derma Cleanse Acne Gel

This isn’t a cleansing gel, in fact it’s meant to be used after you’ve already cleaned your face.

Apply a thin layer each night before bedtime or every couple of days if you have more sensitive, dry skin.

Just a heads up, you may notice a slight tingly sensation on your skin, but this is normal. What’s not normal is if it persists, in which case you should rinse it off immediately and avoid use in the future.

Zenmed AHA/BHA Refining Scrub

If you’re looking for a gentle exfoliation to slough away dead skin cells and excess oil that is dulling your complexion, then you’re going to thoroughly enjoy this one.

Unlike other exfoliating products, it is not too grainy so it doesn’t rub your skin raw. After just one use you will be shocked at how smooth your skin feels.

AHA/BHA Refining Scrub Ingredients

There are several key ingredients that make this scrub so great. First of all there are jojoba scrubbing beads, which both moisturize and exfoliate your skin.

Alpha and beta hydroxy acid help to reveal younger, healthier looking skin by rejuvenating skin cells and smoothing your skin’s texture.

Tea tree oil, eucalyptus and peppermint soothe inflammation, fight off acne causing bacteria and tighten your pores, while leaving your skin feel super refreshed.

Did I mention I have a love affair with tea tree oil?!

How to Use AHA/BHA Refining Scrub

Using the Zenmed AHA/BHA Refining Scrub is simple. Dampen your face before using your fingers to massage this scrub into your skin using upward, circular motions. Circular motions help stimulate circulation which can help your skin cells regenerate.

Rinse off using warm water and apply a moisturizer afterwards. If you plan on being outside for any length of time be sure to wear an SPF as this formula can make your skin temporarily more vulnerable to UV exposure.

This acne face scrub is best used only 2 or 3 times a week so you don’t dry out your skin.

Zenmed AHA/BHA Complex

The AHA/BHA complex is an alcohol free toner that helps clear your pores, while minimizing them too. The smaller your pores are the less likely acne bacteria and dead skin cells are going to get in and clog them up.

Tighter pores also make your complexion look more even and healthy. How? By allowing cellular turnover to occur without any issues.

AHA/BHA Complex Ingredients

One of my absolute favourite, cannot live without, go to natural remedies is witch hazel. It is one of nature’s greatest toner’s and it also contains moisturizing properties so your skin doesn’t dry out. It also happens to be one of the main ingredients in the Zenmed AHA/BHA complex.

Alongside small doses of glycolic acid and salicylic acid, this complex is perfect for crushing acne causing bacteria, refining your pores and smoothing your skin’s texture.

How to Use AHA/BHA Complex

For sexier looking skin in as little as 7 days, apply this complex to your face twice daily. Saturate a cotton pad and swipe it all over your face, neck and chest. Avoid skin that is broken or irritated.

I like to use it immediately following the AHA/BHA scrub. Let it dry on your skin before applying facial moisturizer.

Zenmed Derma Cleanse Acne Mask and Spot Treatment

I’m a big fan of spot treatments and masks, but can’t stand when you try one out and it sucks the life out of your skin and makes your skin irritated and flaky…which is unfortunately what I found with this acne mask and acne spot treatment.

The Zenmed acne mask and spot treatment should really just be labeled a spot treatment, because I found it much too harsh when used as a full acne face mask.

Used only as a spot treatment and I did notice significant difference in redness and inflammation. Whiteheads and larger pimples were noticeably smaller after just 5 minutes of spot treatment.

Derma Cleanse Acne Mask and Spot Treatment Ingredients

This product is a montmorillonite clay based mask with other ingredients like benzyl alcohol, and zinc oxide.

It also happens to contain several other natural ingredients like witch hazel, chamomile, sea kelp, mint and rosemary, which is why I found it so shocking that it irritated non-acne affected skin.

How to Use Derma Cleanse Acne Mask and Spot Treatment

To use this acne spot treatment, apply a very thin layer only to affected areas. That means do not use this “mask” on any part of your skin that does not have pimples or blemishes.

All the treatment to soak in and dry. This usually takes 3-5 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and do not forget to moisturize afterwards.

If you have particularly large pimples you can leave this on overnight, but make sure it isn’t on any healthy skin or it will likely dry out and become flaky.

Do not use this acne mask more than twice weekly.

Zenmed Oil-Free Day Lotion

I was a little skeptical of this moisturizer when I first tried it, but it didn’t take long for me to become a fan.

The Zenmed oil-free day lotion is a nutrient rich face cream that may feel slightly heavy or greasy on your skin at first, but absorbs easily and ends up leaving your skin feeling super soft.

Oil-Free Day Lotion Ingredients

Some of the key ingredients include vitamin A, B5 and E which are all known for their nourishing properties and skin health benefits. It also contains aloe vera juice which is a great natural moisturizer.

Together these acne cream ingredients hydrate and balance your skin’s pH without clogging pores.

How to use Zenmed Day Lotion

You can use this acne day lotion any time after you cleanse your face. I found it especially moisturizing after using the AHA/BHA scrub and complex, but it is also recommended after using the facial cleanser too.

Apply an even layer all over your face and neck for best results.

Zenmed Derma Cleanse Capsules

I must admit the Derma Cleanse capsules are one product in the Zenmed acne treatment line that I have not personally tried.

Essentially they are a supplement designed to be used alongside a healthy diet to improve your skin from the inside out.

Derma Cleanse Capsule Ingredients

These capsules contain many natural ingredients including neem, chaste tree, forsythia and a whole host of homeopathic remedies I am not very familiar with. Basically they are meant for acne prone skin because they help your body purge itself of toxins that may be causing pimples.

How to Use Derma Cleanse Capsules

To use this supplement they recommend taking 1-3 capsules daily with meals. Do not exceed 6 capsules per day.

How Much Does Zenmed Acne Treatment Cost?

There are several options when it comes to purchasing these products.

You can buy each item individually or in one of their many kits.

Here is a breakdown of their prices by individual product:
